What movies can you and your man both enjoy?
I will start this post with the one movie you cannot fail with, "The Little Rascals" I do not care what age or gender you are, this movie is a winner for you and your boyfriend. It is charming, adorable and funny. It is a movie you cannot go wrong with. Also, another great movie is "Full Metal Jacket" FMJ is a great marine movie with some of the most memorable quotes and is funny for both genders. He will be surely impressed with this choice. And please never forget about "Fight Club" Well I just broke the first rule of Fight Club, and oh dang I just broke the second rule as well. Okay, moving on to our next film. 300 is one of my personal favorites. Your man gets a great fighting movie and you get to watch dreamy Gerard Butler. Then again my boyfriend has a huge man crush on him. Apparently he can do it all. You ladies might remember him as the Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera" Well, I hope this post gave you some great ideas. If you ever have any requests just post a comment and I will help you out. Why is you boyfriend so into Batman?
Bruce Wayne is the persona of the Batman our boyfriends have come to adore. My boyfriend on the other hand is obsessed. Batman is the Superhero of Gotham City. Bruce Wayne is simply a billionaire who witnessed his parents being murdered when he was a child and swore revenge on the criminals of Gotham City. He does not have any superhuman capabilities but he is considered one of the world's greatest heroes. He is a founding member of the Justice League and The Outsiders. Bruce Wayne was raised by his butler, Alfred Pennyworth. When he was 20 he almost joined the FBI but quickly realized he could never really fight crime if he had to work under the law. Wayne's fear of bats as a child was actually what made him decide to become the Batman.
So as you can see, there is a lot to love about Batman. So give your guy a little credit when he is drooling over the new movie :) -B

Assassin's Creed is not just your boyfriends videogame
This game is not just your boyfriend's video game. I have to say I am obsessed. The story line is amazing and it is really a great game to play. The game takes place in 2036 where as the main character, Desmond Miles, is a bartender finds out he is a descendant of Assassins. You have been kidnapped by Megacorporation Abstergo Industries. You are forced to use the Animus which basically means you lay down on a metal slab and you are sent into you ancestors life so that you may uncover their memories that the Megacorporation cannot access. The goal of this experiment is to uncover the "Pieces of Eden." which can then control and alter the fate of mankind. You experience the memories as your past relatives, usually Altair, Ezio or Conner.
You have three rules to follow which are entitled, "The Assassin's Creed" The first rule is that you never kill an innocent person. The second is that you are always discrete and the third is that you never compromise the brotherhood.
That is just the first of the Assassins Creed. As of 2012 there are five main games to the series. I highly recommend getting started playing. It is a great game that will keep your interest and give you and your man something to do together.

Let's Meet the Avengers
Nick Fury(the man walking around giving orders with the eye patch is a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. Shield is a fictional secret military law. Basically they are the cops that deal with the Marvel series. Nick Fury was a fictional hero during the world war two era and first appeared in "SGT. Fury and His Howling Commandos" issue #1. He came back to the world of comics more recently in Fantastic Four.
Then there is Agent Phil Paulson, if you watched the movie, this was the guy obsessed with Captain America. He first showed up as a member of SHIELD in the 2008 movie "Iron Man." He was also seen in "Thor", and "Iron Man 2" and of course "The Avengers" He was the one to bring Iron Man, Tony Stark into the Avengers.
Then there is Agent Maria Hill. Shes the one that is that same actress from How I met your Mother's Robin and is therefore also if you are anything like me the one character that drove you crazy trying to figure out where you knew her from.
Next is the ever conceded Iron Man. I mean he even said it that when you take away the suit he is a "Genius billionaire playboy philanthropist." He runs Stark industries. He is also one of the top ten geniuses in Marvel Industries.
Now let us get to a personal favorite of mine, CPT America. Captain America is Steve Rogers and he was not the big man on campus. He actually wasnt even a big man. He even got turned away from the Army because he was not fit for duty. Then there was Operation: Rebirth. He got another chance to serve as a test subject. Steve Rogers became the hero we know as Captain America.
Next is a guy that had to learn to control his anger. What's his secret? He is always angry! This of course is Bruce Banner also known as the Hulk. Bruce Banner was trying to save the life of a teenage boy named Rick Jones and by saving him exposed him self to mass amounts of Gamma Radiation.
Thor is Donald Blake. He was a doctor who found the Magical Norse Hammer and transformed into Thor, the Norse God of Thunder. He is an Asgardian.
Next is the Black Widow, her name is Natasha Romanova. She was almost brainwashed by the Hand but was saved by Wolverine and Captain America. She did some freelance work for Nick Fury and SHIELD.
Now its time for Hawkeye. Clint Barton was orphaned as a young child and sent to a boy's home with his brother. He then became a member of the circus and after that was mentored by Trick Shot. Don't forget about Loki. Odin, the Ruler of Asgard adopted Loki as his son after a war with the giants from the land of Jotunheim. Loki became known as the God of Mischief. He resented his brother Thor because he felt as though his father looked more lovingly on Thor then him.
This may not give you every character in the Avengers but I am confident you now understand a little bit more. I hope now you can impress your man with some great conversation and maybe even now you know a little more then he does :)

Welcome to the Girlfriend's Guide
Hello ladies and welcome to the girlfriend's guide. Are you sick of not being able to get you boyfriend away from the x-box or his nose out of those comic books? What if you were actually able to understand how to have a actual conversation with him about these things. Scary? Ya, I know. That is exactly how I felt at first, and then my boyfriend started involving me in all the things that take up his time. Do you know what the scariest part was. It was actually interesting. I even play the x-box now when he is not home and I can not wait for when the new DC and Marvel movies come out. Also, it gives me a little leeway when I want to drag him to the mall with me for my writer's group. This blog is to bring you into the mind of your boyfriend. I will explain and uncover all the things that keep them interested so you can too. Can you imagine the look on his face at dinner when you start a conversation about Wasteland (the PC game Fallout was loosely based off of from the 80's) Yes. I knew that. Trust me, once he sees that you are making an effort, he will as well. Relationships are all about balance, and I am just the scale you are looking for. My name is Brooke but you can call me B.
